He Sees

A joyful heart makes a cheerful face,

but when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.

– Proverbs 15:13 (NASB)

Faces reflect the heart, joyful or mournful; however, we humans can be masterful at “putting on a face”. Though we often try to hide our inside world, God sees the difference between a cheerful face and a fake smile. He discerns the false front covering a broken spirit.

The good news is, whether we wear a smile or a frown, God knows the truth about our hearts and deeply loves us. After all, he died and rose again to save and change all hearts, reflecting his real and true joy that brings authentic cheer. He sees through all and loves us.

Think about it:

He sees you when you smile, reflecting a joyful heart, as in the first part of the verse above.

He also sees you when you in your brokenness, which flows from a sad heart.

He sees you when you force a smile.

He sees you when you run to your room and cry.

He sees you…

And His love for you remains.

Whatever you are going through today, remember that God sees you; He cares for you, and He loves you.

The good news is, whether we wear a smile or a frown, God knows the truth about our hearts and deeply loves us. After all, he died and rose again to save and change all hearts, reflecting his real and true joy that brings authentic cheer.
