The One Who Loves You Says You Can

A Word of Encouragement Today: Monday, October 23, 2023

If we get honest, we sometimes live with two minds. One mind believes we can obey God and change, but we then change our mind with this thought: “Yeah…and every time I’ve tried, I fail.” We conclude that change is too hard, too far away.

Friend, this may be how we feel, but this is not real.

We may feel like change is impossible, but the truth sets us free.

The Truth?

First, God is near and so is His Word. You do not have to travel to a special place to find God or His Words. He is here. He is where you are – even if that place is a very discouraging one for you. Remember that.

Second, we CAN change. The same God Who has come near to us loves us and wants us to obey His Word. We can obey it by faith in Him. Change is difficult, but it is not too difficult. The God Who loves you dearly says so:

“¹¹ Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. ¹² It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” ¹³ Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” ¹⁴ No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. – Deuteronomy 30:11-14 (NIV)

Can I get an “Amen”? Not for me, but for God’s Word.
